The Saudi national weightlifting team’s athletes joined the preparation camp for the 2026 sporting season at the Youth Hostel in the city of Dammam, where comprehensive physical tests were conducted for all athletes in line with the approved training plan.
These tests aim to assess the athletes’ physical condition, raise the technical level and prevent injuries, as well as prepare them to reach the highest levels of physical and technical readiness ahead of upcoming participations. The tests were carried out under the supervision of an integrated technical and medical team comprising specialists in physical preparation and rehabilitation, ensuring the application of the latest scientific methods in preparing the athletes.
The training camp runs from 1 January until 30 March, within an integrated preparation system aimed at building a strong foundation for the upcoming sporting season.
This step comes in preparation for the athletes’ participation in a number of overseas championships, most notably the Asian Senior Championship, scheduled to take place in India in early April, and the World Youth Championship hosted by Egypt next May, amid aspirations to achieve outstanding results that reflect the quality of the preparation work and the professional organisation of the training programme.
