Conclusion of the first qualifying championship for Para clubs in weightlifting

Last night, Saturday, the first qualifying para-weightlifting championship for clubs concluded at the sports hall of the University of Science and Technology in Jeddah, having run over three days. More than 30 athletes representing 4 clubs took part (Jeddah Club for People with Disabilities – Taif Club for People with Disabilities – Makkah Club for People with Disabilities – Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Club for People with Disabilities), and the competitions were managed by 14 referees, with referee Abdullah Fahd Al-Qahtani as jury president.
The results were as follows: in the 49 kg category, Mayassar Waheed Al-Olaimi of Jeddah Club took first place with a lift of 109 kg; Talal Naji Al-Balawi of Al-Madinah Club came second with a lift of 105 kg; and Khalid Abdulghafour Elias of Jeddah Club came third with a lift of 66 kg. In the 54 kg category, Abdulrahman Mohammed Attiyah of Jeddah Club took first place with a lift of 111 kg; Hamad Mansour Al Hamamah of Jeddah Club came second with a lift of 72 kg; and Hulayyil Abdulaziz Al-Eyairi of Al-Madinah Club came third with a lift of 70 kg. In the 59 kg category, Adnan Noor Saeed of Jeddah Club took first place with a lift of 166 kg; and Anas Hussein Al-Hazmi of Al-Madinah Club came second with a lift of 65 kg. In the 65 kg category, Suroor Mohammed Al-Yami of Makkah Club took first place with a lift of 75 kg; and Ahmed Wasl Al-Mutrafi of Makkah Club came second with a lift of 75 kg. In the 72 kg category, Ubadah Mohammed Hosawi of Jeddah Club took first place with a lift of 140 kg; and Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Jadaani of Jeddah Club came second with a lift of 101 kg. In the 80 kg category, Tariq Mohammed Balghaith of Jeddah Club took first place with a lift of 146 kg; Naif Attiyah Al-Maliki of Taif Club came second with a lift of 135 kg; and Aseel Youssef Hosawi of Jeddah Club came third with a lift of 70 kg. In the 88 kg category, Anan Bandar Al-Rajhi of Makkah Club took first place with a lift of 95 kg. In the 97 kg category, Saeed Abdulaziz Hosawi of Makkah Club took first place with a lift of 155 kg; Muhannad Siraj Al-Khamis of Jeddah Club came second with a lift of 101 kg; and Yahya Zakaria of Jeddah Club came third with a lift of 100 kg. In the +107 kg category, Yazan Mahmoud Al-Nahhas of Al-Madinah Club took first place with a lift of 65 kg.
At the close of the competitions, board member Badr Al-Majnouni and the federation’s executive director Khalid Al-Ruhaili crowned the winners; Al-Majnouni thanked the management of the sports hall at the University of Science and Technology in Jeddah for hosting the championship and providing every resource for its success.
